We are incredibly proud to share that Max Cooney has been selected to represent Rugby League Ireland in the Rugby League 4 Nations Tournament 2026.

From early mornings and tough training sessions to wet winter matches both in Ireland and England, Max has worked relentlessly for opportunities like this. Now, he has the honour of pulling on the Rugby League Ireland jersey to face Wales, England and Scotland this summer.

Max will proudly represent not only Ireland, but also his community and scholarship clubs — Leigh Miners Rangers U15's ⚫ and Leigh Leopards — carrying with him the pride of his teammates, coaches and the whole community.

To make this dream possible, there is a required player contribution of £1200 to cover flights, tournament costs, training camps both in Ireland and England, insurance and official kit.
