Help Max Heal and Get Back on His Feet
Donation protected
Hello, my brother, Max, was in a truck vs Ebike accident the night of April 19th. He was sent over his handle bars. He remembers nothing of the accident itself.
His Ebike was totaled. He started in trauma 1. He sustained 1 scalp laceration, 2 brain hematomas (one from the laceration and one farther inside). He's got road rash along the left side of his body, left hand bruised to the hilt, L1 & L2 fractures. Everything that can hurt does. His BP and O2 will not stay stable yet.
He is now in trauma 2 care unit. Not a clue as to when he'll be released.
Now, let me tell you about this man... He's a hard working man, with a soft heart made of gold.. he will help anyone if he can. Even when he is down himself, he's right there to bring a smile to our faces.. he loves his family and friends. He spoils all of us time to time... Even spoils our fur kids.
He's not one to accept a handout, absolutely refuses to ask for help (been working on that one). He's quit drinking a year ago (huge huge accomplishment), 2 years ago, he had a life vest on and DIED in my living room... The vest brought him back to us.. followed by major heart surgery (CABG, aortic valve replacement and a pacemaker placed). Lived with my husband and I for 6 months to get rehabbed enough to get back on his feet.
He worked at a donut joint in town, where he got to know and appreciate the regulars... Many times using his own money to buy supplies and ingredients that weren't ordered, but needed to do his job. That place closed, employees all got screwed... last checks all bounced and the lady has fled. Then he was told of a deli opening (knew he'd be perfect for it). He got that job, and still has it. (Job is secure) He is well liked there and always willing to do what needs done and beyond.
This man has been through the ringer! Oh, and he's a cancer survivor! He needs a break! Money will be used for a new Ebike, and his lost wages.
