Max, our three-year-old Boston Terrier, means the world to our family. He loves nothing more than playing chase and tug of war with his brother Marley and his momma Maggie. At night, he curls up with my son Trace, bringing comfort and joy to his bedtime routine. Yesterday, Max slipped out of our fence and was hit by a golf cart while we were trying to bring him home. He has some surface abrasions and minor cuts, but what worries us most is his back right leg—he won’t put any weight on it, and I’m scared it may be broken. Trace is heartbroken seeing his best friend in pain and missing their nightly snuggles and playtime together.
Today, Max will see our local mobile vet for antibiotics and pain medication. If his injuries are more serious, we may need to visit another vet for x-rays and further treatment, possibly even surgery. The costs are uncertain, and I want to be proactive in making sure Max gets the care he needs as soon as possible. Raising funds quickly will help us set up the next appointment and cover whatever treatment is necessary to get Max back on his feet.
We are grateful for any support you can offer to help Max recover. I will keep everyone updated on his progress and recovery. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any donation you can provide to help our sweet boy heal.
Update!!!!
Max had his vet visit on Friday. The X-ray shows that his back leg joint has been displaced. Unfortunately, we can just "pop it back in". It requires surgery to get it fixed. I have attached the quote for that service as well. The Dr did say this is better than an actual break though, as it's not as painful as a broken bone would be. Also a broken bone would be much more expensive to fix. If you would like to help me you can donate several ways. You can call the vet listed on the estimate and make a payment on his behalf. You can send it directly to me. I have Venmo and Cashapp! I have also started a GofundMe on his behalf. Please help if you can! Pray for us if you don't mind! He has been taking medicine and antibiotics for the surface abrasions. He has pain medicine and anti-inflammatory. So far I have spent $375 dollars on vet bills and medicine. Another at least $1,500 to go. Thank you to those who have donated so far and thank you for those who are donating now! I'll never forget the ones who helped me in this time of need!
