My dog's name is Max. He has been my emotional support dog for nearly ten years. When my husband died, I bought Max, and he has been loving, caring, and loyal ever since. In those ten years, I got remarried, but just thirteen weeks after our wedding, my husband passed away in the hospital. Max has been my rock through all of this—always there for me—and now I need to be there for him.
Three weeks ago, Max was with me on a run from Pennsylvania to Ohio when we were in a vehicle accident, and he was thrown against the dash. I used the last bit of money I had to take him to the vet. I couldn’t afford x-rays or blood work, but the vet said his heart and lungs sounded good, so they sent us home. I hoped he was just shaken up by the accident, so I cared for him at home. Unfortunately, he is getting worse, and I think he may have broken or dislocated his right back hip. I don’t have the money to take him back to the vet and have him looked at again.
I need to have Max seen by the vet, have x-rays done, and cover any surgical procedures that may be needed. He will also need blood work. For many years, I have donated to these types of causes, and I know how satisfying and gratifying it is to help others in need. I thank you all for taking the time to read my story about Max. And I pray that anyone who loves their animal as much as I love mine would be willing to help us in our time of need. God bless you all.
