Hello.

Meet 9-year-old Max. He was perfectly healthy until Friday, March 14th, when he suddenly started to act very imbalanced, walking in circles and becoming unresponsive for about 45 minutes until we took him to the vet. The vet came to the conclusion that he is having a neurological episode and needs to see a neurologist and possibly have an MRI scan. They did a full workup, including blood tests, a chest X-ray, and an exam, which was $1600. We are looking to get a second opinion from our family vet on Monday, March 17th, but ultimately we are planning on going through with a neurologist visit. Since his vet visit, he has not slept, even though we have given him Gabapentin to calm him and get him to sleep. We are just very concerned and worried for our little guy. Financially, this was unexpected, so any little way you can help would go a long way. Max is the love of our life and our best friend. We want to do everything we can to get him back to 100%. For transparency: the first vet bill was $1600, we saw the neurologist today (3/17/25) and are awaiting MRI results and the total cost for this visit was $7249.

3/17/2025 7:07pm the neurologist has updated us and let us know max suffered a stroke and has a long road to recovery. We will have more updates by Friday when the final results have come in.
