Our darling Max is our family Labrador and he is 11 and a half years old. He has been with us through so many chapters of our lives and is more than just a pet – he is family.
Max recently had surgery to remove what we were told was a fatty lump. Sadly, the results showed it was cancer. During surgery, Max’s heart stopped beating. Against the odds, he pulled through. He is still here, still fighting, and showing us every day just how brave he truly is.
During the procedure, the vets struggled to stem the bleeding from the wound, and Max had to be put under anaesthetic twice — despite his heart having already stopped once. It was an incredibly frightening time, but Max continued to fight through it all.
Since the operation, Max has needed blood transfusions and round-the-clock care. He is currently still in doggy hospital, where the veterinary team are doing everything possible to stabilise him and keep him comfortable.
The cost of this critical care is around £2,000 per night, and it is quickly becoming overwhelming. We would never put Max through this if he wasn’t showing us every day that he wants to keep going.
Please, if you are able to help in any way — whether by donating or sharing Max’s story — it would mean the world to us. Every contribution helps us give Max the chance he deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support
