Help Max Horvath Fight for His Freedom
A 26-year-old entrepreneur faces life in prison for running a legal business.
On Wednesday, December 3rd, the love of my life, Max Horvath's world was turned upside down. Federal and state agents raided his business, seizing everything he'd built while helping people across Brevard County, Florida manage chronic pain and break free from opioid addiction.
Max didn't break the law. But he's facing charges that could put him behind bars for life.
What Really Happened
For years, Max ran a Kratom business. A completely legal botanical product used by millions of Americans for pain relief and wellness. When Florida made 7-Hydroxymitragynine (7OH) illegal by emergency order in March, 2025 Max did everything right. He moved production out of state and stopped all local manufacturing to stay in full compliance with the law.
But last week, the local sheriff held a press conference painting a very different picture.
THE CLAIM: "Largest 7OH drug bust in history"
THE TRUTH: The products seized were standard kratom leaf. Legal in Florida and used safely by thousands of people every day.
THE CLAIM: "Dangerous armory discovered, he's basically a terrorist"
THE TRUTH: Several employees of Max legally exercised their Second Amendment rights by carrying firearms, as is their constitutional right in Florida. These lawfully owned weapons belonged to multiple individuals, and stored them in a large warehouse owned by Max.
Who Max Really Is
While building a multi-million dollar business, Max never forgot where he came from. He lived with his grandparents, paying their mortgage and caring for them. He gave his friends meaningful careers when they needed opportunities. He built something that helped people escape the opioid crisis devastating our communities. For people that needed a helping hand, he was always there.
Max is a devoted Christian, a family man, and someone who genuinely cares about making people's lives better. He's never sought to harm anyone; quite the opposite. His business gave people hope and a path away from dangerous pharmaceuticals.
Now he's facing life in prison for building a business.
Why We Need Your Help
Max's family is middle class. Me and our close friends are giving every dollar they can to help Max out. We're draining savings, taking out loans, selling what they can. His friends are pooling every dollar they've got. But the reality of fighting charges is brutal.
We need to raise $235,000 by Monday to cover the immediate legal costs just to mount a proper defense against these false allegations.
The legal bills don't stop there, but without this funding by Monday, Max won't even have a chance to prove his innocence.
This Could Be Any of Us
If the government can destroy a legal business, seize someone's livelihood without due process, and threaten life imprisonment over a compliant operation, what does that say about our freedom?
Max believed in the American dream. He worked hard, followed the law, helped his community, and built something meaningful. Now the state wants to make an example of him.
