Help Max Breathe Easy: Support for Vet Bills
Donation protected
Meet Maximillian von Floof, or just Max. He is a domestic longhair fluffy boi who is 7 years old. About a month ago, Max started wheezing in brief fits and over time, the fits went on longer and longer. All advice said get him into a vet asap, so on 8/24, we spent 6 hours at an emergency vet hospital.
Max was X-rayed and had blood tests to check for heartworm, but at the end of it, it turned out Max has asthma.
The total bill reached close to $1,000 and I had to apply for something called 'Care Credit' to cover it which is a knock on my credit records but I was approved and I used this, essentially a credit card, to cover the bill.
The kicker is, I have pet insurance on Max. I wasn't too worried about the high bill because I would get reimbursed a goodly amount of it and I could pay the Care Credit card off and all would be well.
Unfortunately, the insurance has denied the claim saying it's a pre-existing condition because I took him to the vet when he was a tiny kitten because he was breathing heavy.
So, I'm swallowing the old pride, and asking for help with the vet bill. Even if I could just get half of it paid it would be a tremendous help and load off my mind.
I know there are probably thousands of people asking for help with their animals. I'm no different. I'm just one more. So any little bit you might feel like passing on would make my heart happy.
And in case you are wondering, Max is responding great to his new meds and inhaler, and the wheezing fits have all but stopped :)
