Help Me Save My Home and Protect My Kids

Hello, my name is Max McKinney, and I am reaching out with a humble heart, asking for help during the most difficult time of my life.

In April 2024, I nearly lost my life after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Just a few weeks before that, I also lost my beloved mum. Coping with grief while undergoing treatment has been overwhelming, but what makes it even harder is the situation with my family and our home.

I currently live on the property that has been my children’s only home and the place where they attend school. It’s not just a house—it’s the only sense of stability my kids have ever known. Unfortunately, the property is part of an estate sale, and I am fighting to purchase it so we don’t lose everything. The down payment and closing costs total $17,000, and without this, we face losing our home.

On top of my health struggles, I’ve also had to endure painful family conflicts. My uncle withheld $65,000 from my mum’s retirement—money I know she would have wanted to go to her kids and grandkids. Even worse, my uncle has physically assaulted me in the past and has tried to take my children while I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy. The bullying and betrayal from those who should have been supportive has made this journey even heavier.

I am doing everything I can to hold on, but the truth is, I can’t do this alone. Between my medical treatments and financial strain, I need help to secure this home for myself and my children so they don’t lose the only place they’ve ever known.
