Hi everyone. Earlier this year, my sweet boy, Maverick, was diagnosed with FLUTD, a condition that causes his bladder to occasionally get blocked. That first emergency ran me $2,000 between two appointment, a triage, and medications. A few weeks ago, he was completely blocked up, unable to pee at all, and I had to take him to the vet for an emergency catheter, which cost $2,500. The vet warned me this would likely happen again, and when, he would need perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery that can run anywhere from $5,000-$8,000, with the addition of another catheter first, because he is having another flare up. I was laid off in August, so these emergency vet bills have drained what very little money I have left. I've exhausted my limit on my vet Care Credit card and my pet insurance bank is dried up from these expenses. This is a completely last resort option I did not want to utilize. I adopted Maverick three years ago after a very painful and life altering separation, so he has been so special to my life.
All funds will go to his medical bills, existing and outstanding, which after surgery, will total about $6,000-$7,000. Any dollar helps and know that I appreciate it more than words can express during this financially difficult time. Thank you.
