Help Maverick with his cancer surgery and recovery

This is a beautiful story of a sweet eleven month old bright eyed American Quarter horse, named Maverick. Maverick has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. This story will have a very happy ending because of you.

Maverick has been diagnosed with Equine Juvenile Mandibular Ossifying Fibroma. That means he has a benign tumor that has developed in the bone of his lower right jaw. He needs surgery immediately to remove a section of his lower right jaw bone that is infected with the cancer. Our vets at Iowa State University have assured us Maverick is a young and a strong horse. He will learn to eat grass, hay and grain without the use of his lower right jaw. He will grow and adapt. His tongue may hang out though. He will live a full life post surgery but if he does not have the surgery he will not.

We are only asking you for your support with the initial cost of his surgery. We will cover the rest for this sweet boy. He deserves the chance to live a full life.

Warmest thanks from our entire family to yours for your generosity.
