Hello, my name is Jillian and I am fundraising for my boyfriend's dog, Maverick. He is a huge part of our family, even though he is smol.

Yesterday (02/26/24), Maverick seemed tired but was acting normal. As the day progressed, we noticed that his stomach became distended and he began to hyper-salivate. We rushed him to an UrgentVet, to be told that he needed immediate hospitalization and potential surgery. The vet made it clear to us that it is rare for a dachshund's stomach to flip, but in this case with how much gas is built up, it is very likely to occur to Maverick.

When we got him to the hospital, they concluded that Maverick would need surgery and the cost would be about $9,300. My boyfriend called his pet insurance, and the pet insurance informed us that there is an 18 month policy; where if your dog has been seen 3 times due to emergency circumstances within the last 18 months, they do not have to cover any of the cost. Maverick was seen twice early last year for indigestion of foreign objects.

We will be fighting with insurance as must as we can, but the likelihood of us covering Maverick's costs is extremely highly. We would appreciate any help in donating to our baby bubbah. He is one of the most loving and fun dogs I have ever encountered, and is one of my boyfriend's biggest cornerstones in his life.
