Maverick is a bright and energetic five-year-old boy whose smile can light up any room. He loves playing, laughing, and exploring the world around him with endless curiosity. Recently, Maverick’s life and ours took an unexpected turn when mom took him to our local hospital on Monday night for a fever and belly pain. Tests revealed a tumor on the left side of his stomach, and he was immediately transferred to U of M Mott Children’s Hospital. In just a few days, we learned the heartbreaking news that Maverick has neuroblastoma, and that it has already spread to his upper leg bone and pelvic bone.
Maverick has already started chemotherapy yesterday 9/19/25. Showing incredible bravery beyond his years. Each day, he reminds us of the resilience and courage children carry, even in the face of uncertainty. The road ahead will be long and filled with hospital stays, chemo cycles, clinics, and labs multiple times a week. As parents, we are overwhelmed by the unknowns, including the fears of what this journey will mean financially.
We are reaching out for support in any form, prayers, encouragement, or help. Knowing Maverick is a fighter, and with love surrounding him, he will not fight alone.
