Help Maverick Campbell Recover from Rare Illness
Donación protegida
Maverick Campbell, senior at Pueblo West High School and oldest son of our friend and colleague, Tori Campbell, broke his leg on October 11 (during a football game). That was just the beginning. Before he could make it to his appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, he became ill. He went to the E.R. and was immediately admitted to the hospital with extremely low oxygen levels and was diagnosed with a rare strain of Pneumonia, mycoplasma pneumoniae-associated mucositis (MPAM). It is so rare Pueblo has never seen it before. After three days here at a Pueblo hospital, the doctors made the decision to move him to a facility that was more familiar with this serious illness. Flight-for-Life transported him to Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs for further treatment. He has been receiving antibiotics, steroids, and oxygen, but he is still in ICU and has quite a rough road ahead of him. His mother, Tori Campbell, is a high school teacher and is missing work to take care of her son. Medical expenses are already extensive and are only going to increase. If you can, please consider donating to help this family during this scary time. No amount is too small and everything is appreciated!
Thank you from Tori's colleagues: Tara Armendariz, Bou Amaya, Kimbra Blackmore, Lynette Lievers, Mariah Ngoga, and Michelle Dwyer
