Maverick is a one-year-old golden retriever I recently rescued from a neglectful home. When I first brought him home, he was malnourished and in rough shape, but even then, his gentle and loyal nature shone through. Despite everything he’s been through, Maverick has shown nothing but sweetness and trust, always staying by my side and quickly becoming a perfect companion.

After taking Maverick to the vet, we discovered he tested positive for heartworm disease. The news was heartbreaking, especially knowing how much he’s already endured. The vet created a personalized four-month treatment plan for him, which includes regular visits, medication, and follow-up tests. The treatment is urgent to give Maverick the healthy, happy life he deserves, but the costs are more than I can manage alone right now.
