I'm Mauricio Berestan, a Latino creator in Miami building EcoPawst — daily YouTube Shorts (@ecopawst) on endangered animals, real IUCN facts, emotional healing from nature's warriors, and a locked 30% profit pledge to organizations like Greenpeace, Jane Goodall Institute, Steve Irwin Wildlife Warriors, Cousteau Society, Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation, and PETA.

The dream is bigger: a community-owned social platform where followers become owners — active in rescue teams, action groups, and real change. No big tech exploitation, just ethical AI + people + planet working together to protect what matters.

But getting here has been brutal. It started when we sponsored Mariela's sister to come to the USA. We paid plane tickets for her and her daughter, gave them a free home, found her a job, took them on a full Disney vacation. While I was working on a yacht in North Carolina, her sister beat Mariela in the hotel, took the car keys, left her stranded in Orlando, and called the cops with a false accusation that a female friend tried to abuse her daughter. The cops saw no proof and didn't believe it.

That trauma triggered Mariela's bipolar depression. She was hospitalized at Clínica Los Tilos in Mendoza, Argentina, for treatment with internación. I quit the yacht contract immediately, flew back, rescued her from Orlando, and got her the help she needed. The total cost — plane tickets, medications, food, accommodations, doctors — came to around $90,000. Coming from the USA, they charge you to death. It broke us financially.

Then our van was repro after one missed payment. They took it and all my tools. I lost my business. We were finally climbing out when last week a coworker hit me on the job site. I didn't hit back — I was the one suspended. Now we're in real danger of becoming homeless: me, Mariela, our dog, and our 3 rescue cats.

I refuse to quit. EcoPawst is how I turn this pain into help for animals and the planet. But I can't keep splitting my time with extra jobs that drain me.
