Hi, I’m Maurice… and I need your help.
(A message from a brave little kitten fighting FIP)
Hello kind humans,
My name is Maurice, and I’m a 6-month-old kitten with a big purr, a soft grey belly, and a heart that has always loved too much for my tiny body.
Just six short weeks ago, my brother Julian and I were adopted into the most loving home. We were rescued together, and everyone said we were “two little twin flames” because we did everything side by side—napping, zoomies, snack time, even purring in harmony.
Our new family promised us a safe, warm life… and we believed them.
But last week, everything changed.
I wasn’t feeling like myself… and the news was worse than anyone feared.
My loving parents took me to the vet, thinking maybe I had a little kitten bug. But after many tests and worried nights…
They heard the words no cat parent should ever have to hear:
I have FIP.
FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) used to be a fatal diagnosis for kittens like me. My family’s hearts broke. My brother kept cuddling me, confused why I wasn’t feeling myself.
But here’s the hopeful part
There is a treatment! And it can save my life.
Today, FIP is treatable, and thousands of cats have gone on to live long, healthy, joyful lives after completing the treatment protocol.
My humans have already started making phone calls, scheduling consults, and setting up my care plan—but the treatment is expensive. Very expensive.
It will take 84 days of medication, regular vet visits, bloodwork, and close monitoring.
The total cost is expected to reach $3,000 –$5,000.
My family is doing everything they can… but they can’t do it alone.
I’m a fighter. But I need a village.
I want to grow up.
I want to keep playing with my brother Julian.
I want to nap in sunny spots, chase crinkly toys, and boop my humans’ noses every morning the way I used to.
I want to have a future.
If you can help—even just a few dollars—it brings me one paw-step closer to healing. Every share, every donation, every kind word helps lift my family’s spirits and keeps me fighting.
From my little kitten heart: thank you.
Thank you for helping me stay with the family that loves me.
Thank you for giving me a chance to grow up.
Thank you for believing that one tiny life matters.
With all my love,
Maurice the Brave
(and his very worried but hopeful family)
