Support Maureen Porette in Her Time of Need

After five years in remission, Maureen Porette is now facing stage four metastatic cancer, an advanced and aggressive form of the disease. To make matters worse, Maureen was recently fired due to absences from essential medical appointments.

Maureen and her family urgently need help with treatment costs and daily living expenses. While disability insurance and health insurance subsidies will offer some relief, they are not enough to cover the full extent of their needs. Additionally, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits will not begin until February 2025, leaving a significant gap that needs to be addressed in the meantime.

Maureen is a cherished and active member of the Rockland community. She has made a lasting impact as a mother, scout troop leader, soccer coach, CCD teacher, and founding member of the Rockland Pride Center. Her commitment to improving the community extends to her work as an attorney, a volunteer for the NY Civil Liberties Union, and a political figure. Through all her efforts, Maureen has dedicated herself to making Rockland a better place for everyone.
