Make Maura Whole

Maura O'Brien is a runner. When she tells you what is going on in her life - running is always a present. She has, until recently, been training (for running) and working at a bank in Seattle, WA . Now she's on a new adventure - running and working in Australia. Getting ready for this trip, at the end of November, she packed her car with all of her belongings so she could drive back to Evergreen, CO to spend holidays with her family before leaving for the land down under.

In the early morning hours of December 1st, 2017 someone broke into her car and stole all of her belongings including her running gear, clothing, books, artwork, electronics, typewriter, etc. They also took some irreplaceable items like the National Championship Watch she won as a runner at Adams State University as well as other personal keepsakes. In total, they took about $2,000 worth of her things. Her insurance will not cover any of the costs - including the window repair.

In an attempt to make herself whole again, Maura has been trying to sell another prized possession - her Australian Eucalypt 5 String Banjo. Given what she's already been through - I think we can all agree we'd like her to be able to keep the banjo!

Most of us have been robbed in some capacity in our lives, but to have so much taken at once is a significant financial blow...not to mention it happening during the whirlwind of the holidays, subleasing an apartment, and moving across the globe. I started this campaign to help make Maura more whole. She's such a great person and she deserves some help. I've known Maura since she was just a wee tyke and I've watched her grow into such an incredible adult. I adore her whole family. Anyone who knows the O'Briens, I'm sure, doesn't need convincing that this is a worthy cause. Whatever you can spare would be greatly appreciated.

Please join me in raising some money for Maura to help her replace what she can and relieve some of the financial burden of moving to a new country.

Run on, Maura! Run on!
