I don’t really know how to write this.
Maui isn’t just a dog, he’s my shadow, my comfort and my safe place on the hardest days. He will be 6 years old this June, and since last November he’s been experiencing health challenges that vets struggled to figure out.
Two weeks ago, he was finally diagnosed with IVDD, a serious spinal condition that can take away a dog’s ability to walk, and in some cases, their life. Watching him go from his happy energetic self, to being lethargic, depressed, losing muscle mass, losing control of his bladder and confined to a small kennel where he has just enough room to turn around and lay down, has been absolutely heartbreaking on both of us.
We’re fighting for him and doing everything we can to manage his pain, support his body, and give him the best chance at recovery. But the cost of his care is adding up quickly, and we’re now facing financial restraints that will limit our ability to get him the care he needs.
I’ve avoided this route for months, but as hard as this is for me to ask, I’m asking for your help.
If you’re able to contribute, even a little, it will go directly toward Maui’s medical care. And if you can’t, sharing this means just as much.
He’s my whole world. And I’m not ready to lose him.
Thank you for standing with us. ❤️
