Help Matty Straighten His Luxury Bones (His Teeth, That Is)

Hey everyone! I’m Lana — a single mom on the west coast of Vancouver Island, raising two amazing kids while juggling bookkeeping, woodturning, and, let's be honest, a lot of snacks and sarcasm.

My 12-year-old son Matty needs braces. His teeth, or as I lovingly call them, his “luxury bones”, are growing in ways that only an orthodontist (with a payment plan) could love. The treatment will cost close to $8,000, which is a big stretch for me right now. As much as I'd love to be fully independent and feel weird about out doing this, braces aren't covered by dental assistance plans.

For these braces, an upfront amount is due (can be done in payment plans) for the duration of his braces era so 100% of this will be paid out to the Orthodontist right away.

Matty is smart, funny, and wonderfully himself. He deserves to feel confident when he smiles, and while I wish I could just carve him a new jaw from driftwood (woodturner joke), it turns out braces are the recommended solution.
