Help Matty Represent Scotland in Bratislava
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Martin McGroarty and my son, Matthew (aged 10) has been selected to play for the Scotland national ice hockey under-11 team this year. We are so proud of his achievements as a Netminder and he has worked hard to get to this point.
The Scotland squad is heading for an international tournament in Bratislava, Slovakia, at the end of April 2024.
As with many of the lesser-played sports, international selection for ice hockey does not come cheaply. Players selected for international duty must fund their own way, including to tournaments abroad. Ice hockey (especially for netminders) is an expensive sport anyway, but adding international travel and 5 days accommodation for Matty and at least one parent is a substantial financial undertaking.
I am asking for your assistance to get Matty and at least one of his mum and dad to Bratislava in April this year, so that he can fulfill his dream of representing his country at a sport in which he excels and loves.
Matty's mum and I will be doing everything we can to fund this great opportunity for Matty, but with the cost of living the way it is, we won't be able to get him there without the assistance of family and friends.
Anything you can spare to help Matty take up this exciting opportunity would be so gratefully accepted and will give Matty a lifetime of memories.
Much love, Martin x
