As some folks close to me know and to those that haven’t known, I have been on a journey for the last year and a half of living on my own. There’s a first time for everything, and my first time not living with siblings/roommates/friends has been this past year and a half. The growth and understanding I have come to know about myself have been very good for me.

Recently, I received a text message from my landlord, informing me that serious work was needed on my patio and my plumbing system and to seek a new living arrangement. This came as a shock to me but also feels correct in that I need to move forward from this location to further my growth. Being displaced from your home and only having two weeks to find a new place is not ideal. Wow, it is not ideal. It is what I was dealt with.

I found a new living situation and should be able to afford the deposit and rent upfront, but I will fall short of having the funds to cover a moving truck, moving supplies, cleaning supplies, and any other incidentals that I might incur in this last-minute move process. The move-in day is projected for November 1 and any funds raised will go towards the move-in process on moving day. I will be working while doing the move-in as well, so these funds will help me to be able to work in the middle of moving, getting to and from work, and my new living locations back-and-forth to move things.
