Help Mattie Lou's with Repairs and Lost Revenue to Reopen
Donation protected
Hi, I am Mattie. The owner of Mattie Lou's Cafe and Bakery. I only just bought this place last month, but I have already had such a warm welcoming from the people of Asheville. I love this town, I love this bakery, but I need some help. The bakery has been around for quite some time, which means aging equipment, and potentially things not being maintained as they should be, it happens. Within the last month I have had to close several times for repairs. I'm currently closed as I type this. This week alone, I have had to fix the heating system ($200), a broken water pipe ($480), and that water pipe caused more damages to an electrical panel inside my oven, which is going to cost 6-8k to fix. These costs are adding up, and I don't want to gather too much debt and not be able to open again. I've been closed since Thanksgiving so I'm not making any money. I am asking for some donations, that will go directly to fixing the equipment, to make sure these issues don't arise again. This bakery has been my dream for over a decade, and I have already experienced that dream for a month and I don't want to give it up. I want to be the neighborhood spot. I want to do cookie decorating with your kiddos. I want you and your friend to visit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry while you catch-up. I want to make those cinnamon rolls you enjoy on a holiday morning. I have so many plans for this space, but it requires me to be open consistently and have business. I know we are all still dealing with a lot, but if you have any ability to help, donations of any size are very appreciated. Thank you for reading this far. I hope I get to see your smiling faces very soon. All my love, Mattie Lou
