Help Mathias on his Spina Bifida Journey

Friends and family of Joe, Tamara, and baby Mathias
As a lot of you already know, Joe and Tamara recently received a serious diagnosis for their unborn baby. At a routine 20 week pregnancy ultrasound, their baby boy was diagnosed with Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida can come with a wide range of health issues and disabilities.
Upon learning of the diagnosis, they were referred to CHOP to be reviewed as potential candidates for fetal surgery, in hopes to stop further damage to Mathias' spine and brain. Tamara went through 3 long days of testing on both Mathias' and herself, and found that she is eligible for this surgery. This surgery is Mathias’ best chance at a normal life although is not without risks for mom and baby.
Tamara is scheduled for surgery AT CHOP on 1/19 and will be relocating to Philadelphia on 1/17 where she will remain for the remainder of her pregnancy, she will be on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy. Mathias will spend time in the NICU after birth, and could face more surgeries in the future, although we are hoping that he will not have to.
I am praying that everything goes as planned for Tamara and Matthias. I am asking for prayers for them, prayers for their safety. I am setting this up to try and alleviate some of the stress that will come along with the diagnoses on the financial end of things. We are uncertain of what Mathias will have to face in the future and we do know that they have a long upcoming stay in Philadelphia, which will come along with expenses. If you wish to/are able to make a monetary donation, it would mean so much! Whatever money is not used while they are residing in Philadelphia will be saved in a Medical fund for his uncertain future. Tamara was also unable to prepare for the baby as she is only 23 weeks pregnant, and when she arrives home next, Mathias will be along. With that being said, I had her compile a list of things she needs for his arrival to be able to share with anyone who would like to get something for the baby. The items will be shipped to me and I will get them ready for Mathias to come home. She is registered at Target & Amazon.
