Update:

Matthew is home recovering as his levels are improving and is stable enough to safely return to normalcy again. He thanks everyone that has donated this far and is very appreciative of all the donations and support. He is awaiting a transplant once a liver is available and will continue to be under the care of physicians. Donations are still being accepted as Matthew will have a great amount of financial strain including loss of work, medical and travel expenses.

It is with a very heavy heart to inform you that Matthew Zimmer needs our support in his fight for his life. Sadly, Matt is suffering from a liver condition and has been in Hamot Hospital for over a week. He is stable; however, he is very ill and awaiting transport to Pittsburgh Hospital for a liver transplant. I am asking for any kind of donation that you are able to provide as the insurance company will not cover the cost of the transport to Pittsburgh Hospital. The ambulance cost is $6,000, and with your help, we may be able to raise enough money to help save this young man’s life. Matthew will also be out of work for an unexpected time frame while he waits for a liver.

All donations will automatically be transferred into his mother Sherrie Zimmer’s account and will be used for all of Matthew’s medical expenses and travel expenses for the family.

As many of you know, Matthew is one of the most courageous, witty, intelligent, loving individuals I have ever encountered, and he needs our support right now. Let’s all fight for Matthew’s life and show our love
