In February, while attending college at UAPB, I decided to go to the Costa Rica Study Abroad Program interest meetings. Seeing the photos and hearing about the experiences of others truly intrigued me. I’ve never seen anything like Costa Rica before, and the idea of exploring a new culture and environment felt both exciting and a little scary. It reminded me of my elementary school field trip to Toltec Mounds—an adventure into something totally new. The presentations and stories from others inspired me to join the program, and I hope to learn how people in Costa Rica communicate, expand my understanding of language, and gain a deeper respect for those who are different from me.
The funds raised will help cover my enrollment at the Costa Rica Language Academy, a school program run by Costa Ricans, as well as travel and other expenses that come with this excursion. This support will make it possible for me to participate in this unique educational opportunity and grow both academically and personally.
This trip is a significant expense, and every little bit of support truly helps. If you’re unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser with others would mean a lot. No matter the amount, I am deeply grateful for any contribution and for your encouragement on this journey.
