Help Matthew Recover After a Serious Stroke
In late April, my longtime friend Matthew Tyson suffered a serious stroke that has left him unable to walk, write, use his left hand and leg, and still working hard to regain his speech.
Matthew is 60 years old — a talented handyman and gifted musician with a kind heart and a voice and sense of humor that brightens any room. If you know Matthew, you know how deeply he cares for others and will always give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Now, we’re asking his community to do the same for him.
After weeks of intensive rehabilitation at Davies Hospital in San Francisco, he is now living with his sister Anne and brother-in-law Jaime in San Rafael, California, who have generously taken him in to support his recovery.
The road ahead will be long and challenging, involving extensive therapy and medical care. Unable to work, Matthew faces mounting bills and everyday expenses that he cannot cover on his own. Anne and Jaime have been incredible caregivers, but they need help to provide the support Matthew deserves.
I am setting up this fundraiser on Matthew’s behalf to help cover his therapy, medical costs not covered by insurance, and living expenses as he focuses on healing and regaining independence.
Thank you so much for your support — whether through a donation, a share, or simply sending positive thoughts. It means the world to Matthew and his family.
