Matthew Mussen has been a part of the Van Buren community since 2015, when he moved to town and purchased a historic building at 58 Main St. Over the years, he has grown to love the area, even though he doesn’t have a large support system or many ties. Recently, tragedy struck when a fire destroyed his building and everything he owned. He escaped this fire with only the clothing he was wearing . The building at 58 Main St. has since been demolished, leaving Matthew with nowhere to turn.
Because Matthew is on a fixed, low income, he was unable to afford insurance on the building. He managed to escape the blaze with his beloved cat, Chompay, and his little dog, Saki, but now faces the daunting challenge of starting over with absolutely no means. He currently has just two days left in a hotel before he will be out on the street, with no home or resources to fall back on.

Funds raised will go directly toward helping Matthew secure a safe place to stay, replace essential items he lost, and provide for himself and his pets as he rebuilds his life. Your support can make a real difference for Matthew during this incredibly difficult time. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help him get back on his feet. Any help is deeply appreciated.
