Help Matthew Pay His COVID Medical Bills

Hi everyone, I'm Matthew's (also more affectionately known as Mattie B) brother, Stephen Briseño.

Back in July 2021, Matthew was diagnosed with COVID and was admitted to an ICU in San Antonio, TX. The situation went from serious to dire in a matter of days. After only a few days in the hospital, Matthew was intubated for a total of 3 weeks. He spent a total of 5 weeks in the ICU, had a trach placed in his throat during week 3, and spent 6 1/2 weeks on a ventilator.

When it was all said and done, Matthew spent seven weeks without being around his wife, Annie, or any of his friends or loved ones.

There were times when our fears tried to take over, but God was good, and He healed and restored Matthew.

It has not been easy, but after physical therapy, Matthew has recovered and is doing nicely! Thanks be to God!

However, all that time in the hospital was not cheap.

In total, the medical bills after insurance have amounted to $30,000.

Whether it's been through Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship at UTSA or at Sam Houston State, growing up with him in Fort Worth, Matthew loading up his truck to help you move, or playing disc golf with him, or Matthew just making you laugh with his perfectly timed jokes, we've all been touched by Matthew and Annie in some way or another.

In Galatians 6:2, the Apostle Paul instructs Christians to "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." Matthew and Annie have a burden.
