Our family asks for prayers and support for 15-year-old Matthew Martin Nunes, a Mountain Heritage High School student whose life changed instantly after a devastating car accident. Matthew suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and is currently in a medically induced coma. His condition remains critical, and doctors cannot predict what lies ahead. If he survives, he faces a long road of rehabilitation, therapy, and ongoing medical care.
Matthew is a son, brother, student, football player, baseball and basketball athlete, teammate, and friend. He is known for his determination, competitive spirit, and kind heart—a young man who gives his best to his team, studies, and loved ones. Now, Matthew faces the greatest challenge of his life.
His parents and younger brother have remained by his side at the hospital. As they focus on his care and recovery, they are also facing the financial strain of missed work, travel, lodging, meals, and mounting medical expenses. Donations will help cover medical expenses, housing and lodging near the hospital, travel costs for his immediate family, lost wages, rehabilitation and therapy services, long-term care needs, and unexpected recovery-related expenses.
No family is prepared for a tragedy like this. We ask for your prayers, support, and generosity as Matthew and his family navigate the days ahead. Every gift makes a difference. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser and keep Matthew and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for standing with Matthew Martin Nunes and his family during this difficult time.
