Update from Kelly 0619/2022: Update: Long post.
Today marks 3 weeks since I forked up my knee. I wish I could say it's better... but unfortunately it's a slow long process. Last week in was in Rehab and was kicking ass. Then Friday the 10th I had surgery for what I thought was going to fix my 3 destroyed tendons. One is completely severed, retracted, and entangled around the peroneal nerve. However insurance didn't find that medically necessary for all 3, it did approve my ACL repair. When the surgeon went in he discovered I tore my meniscus as well. So I forked all 4 tendons in my knee! He attempted to repair the meniscus after finishing the ACL. But couldn't get to it without damaging his work. I won't lie I was disappointed when I woke up to find only 1 tendon got fixed. This has been extremely painful. It has changed my life and not knowing the full depth that this injury has yet, scared the fork out of me. So I am back in Rehab working hard. Yesterday I hopped 70 steps. Its HARD! The pain IS EXCRUCIATING. I have a surgery next month on the 11th. My surgeon is hoping to do all 3 remaining tendons and remove my external fixator! I am losing hope, trying to remain hopeful that insurance doesn't get in the way. I hope I don't have to come back to rehab. I was told 2 weeks ago that if I wait too long or something goes wrong I am at risk for a therapeutic amputation due to stiffness. I am trying to remain positive and upbeat, but I am struggling. Guys I am so scared, I feel so lost and so shaken. Things are not going to be the same. My knee will never be better then it was 2 months ago I am missing my animals and my husband. This is absolutely horrible. I hate asking for help, I like to do everything myself but unfortunately right now I can't do it all. I HATE asking for donations but guys if you can share my gofundme or even a small donation $5 I can't express how much that would help. I don't get to see Matthew during the week because gas is so high. If you are uncomfortable with gofundme we have other options. We thank you for anything. Donations or simply sharing. ❤️
Please see Facebook for other options to donate. Thank you
In addition to this accident, the same week they were laid off from their jobs, they had a plumbing leak in their ceiling, causing damage to their ceiling, walls and flooring in their bedroom. They had multiple out-of-pocket expenses from that as well. They had to live in their living room and had just gotten their furniture back into their bedroom after repairs the weekend before Matthew started his new job.
It is difficult to humble ourselves to ask for help from family and friends, but they really need the help right now. If you can donate, it would be greatly appreciated. If you'd rather not donate through GoFundMe, please contact me privately on Facebook messenger and I will let you know other ways you can help. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers and any financial help you can give. God bless you all ❤️
