For Matthew and John, this fundraiser is about getting help during one of the hardest times of their lives. Early Monday morning, our family experienced an unimaginable tragedy when my Matthew and John’s father passed away in a devastating house fire. In the midst of grieving this sudden and heartbreaking loss, the family was immediately faced with legal matters involving his estate and inheritance. Matthew and John have to fight to make sure their fathers wishes are put above everything else. We originally created this GoFundMe with a goal of $5,000 to help cover the initial attorney retainer fee so the family could begin navigating these complicated legal matters during an already incredibly difficult time. Thanks to the generosity, kindness, and support of so many wonderful people, we have officially reached our original $5,000 goal! We truly cannot express how grateful we are to everyone who has donated, shared this fundraiser, or kept our family in their thoughts. Your support has meant more than you know. Unfortunately, the legal process is just beginning, and there are still many unknowns ahead. We have increased our goal to $10,000 to help cover ongoing attorney fees and any additional unexpected expenses or financial burdens that may arise as the family works through the legal process and settles his father’s estate.
