Help Mattea study violin in Wales

Hi everyone, my name is Mattea Little, and I am trying to fund my move from Albury in regional NSW to study violin at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff (RWCMD). I hope to raise enough money to cover my tuition fees, roughly $40,000AUD per year, and accommodation costs, about $10,000 per year.

 

One of 5 children, I have been homeschooled for almost all my education. I have been learning violin at the Murray Conservatorium for the past 11 years. I also play viola, piano and percussion. In 2021 I completed a Diploma of Music with Central Queensland University. My other interests include boxing, reading, walking, knitting and sewing clothes.

 

I have played as a volunteer at Relay for Life, aged care facilities, and regularly at my church. I have also volunteered in many local musicals, including Cats and The Phantom of the Opera.

Following an audition and interview, I have been offered a place at RWCMD to study their Bachelor of Music, starting in September 2022, for 4 years. I am very excited to study at RWCMD because of the specialist ensembles such as viol and the world-renowned tutors. I would love the opportunity in the future to be part of a professional orchestra, and Cardiff is the base for many film, chamber and other orchestras.

 

To save for my move to Cardiff, I am currently working two jobs. I also teach violin privately and enjoy the occasional gig and busking session to raise funds. I have received a partial scholarship to cover £3,000 of my annual tuition fees. This won't cover all my costs, and I still need your help.
