Help Matt’s family through his recovery

On Saturday, June 11th, 2022, our dear friend Matt Baker was the victim of an accident when a pick-up truck collided with his motorcycle at the intersection of Eighth Street & Halston Avenue in Kamloops, BC.

Since the accident, Matt has been fighting to save his leg and has undergone six surgeries, with many more to come. Both of Matt’s lungs are punctured, along with five broken ribs, a broken diaphragm and a broken hand which now has four pins surgically inserted. With a very long road of recovery ahead, we hope to help our friend and family member as much as possible. Matt is the owner of his own millwright company, which he just recently launched and began operating a few months ago. Unfortunately, with being self-employed, Matt does not have any extended healthcare benefits. He is now left with the stress and burden of making ends meet while being the sole provider for his family, which includes his two young children. With the severe nature of Matt’s injuries, he will most likely not be able to return to work for an extended period of time. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money which would be used to help pay for medical expenses, medications, symbolic health recovery practices such as physiotherapy, rent, utilities, groceries and whatever his children may need while Matt is recovering. To help as much as we can, we are reaching out to everyone to donate and support Matt and his family during his recovery. We aim to eliminate any stress and financial burden so Matt can relax and focus on healing.  I will personally be responsible for receiving these donations from GoFundMe and transferring to Matt’s family via E-transfer and cheque.
