Help Matt Stec through terminal brain cancer
Donation protected
My name is Lucy Woolmore and I am Matt Stec's sister-in-law. Matt and my sister Sandra have been in a loving relationship for ten years.
Matt was diagnosed with Glioblastoma 6 years ago. It is an aggressive brain tumour that can be operated on and extend your life span to only a few years. Matt was operated after being diagnosed but unfortunately, his brain tumour returned last year. After another significant operation the prognosis was not the outcome we were all praying for. Instead of prolonging his life to extra years, Matt has only a couple of months to live.
It is difficult to comprehend, process and deal with the news. I am in amazement both Sandra and Matt have tried to make the most of the last five years as this type of cancer is aggressive and only 5% of patients survive up to this time.
Matt migrated from Poland and he only has my sister and our family to support him. Sandra has been doing her very best to look after him with his medical appointments and working full time.
Just before Christmas Matt had a seizure that has severely degraded his speech, walking is a struggle and memory loss means my sister can no longer leave Matt at home on his own.
Matt is only 45 years old and my only wish for them both is to spend his last precious months with my sister in a dignified, comfortable and loving way. This fundraiser will enable Sandra to take time off work.
I know this will not ease the burden of their pain and devastating circumstances, but I hope any donation may alleviate life’s stresses and allow them the freedom to be together.
Please help by donating funds that are right for you. All funds will go to Matt’s palliative care and, ultimately funeral costs.
Thank you and please help me pray for Matt and Sandra.
