On September 14,2018 at approximately 14:00 hours Matthew Poling pulled out of his driveway on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.  Approximately 500 yards up the road he was navigating a corner, and an area where cars park on both sides of the street, he observed a gray Ford truck traveling in the oncoming lane.  The distracted driver of the truck failed to yield for Matt and headed right towards him.  Matt attempted to lay the motorcycle down and dismount from it, to avoid a head on collision.  As he was doing so the truck hit his bike shooting him off into a parked car.  He immediately was knocked unconscious.   He also suffered a fractured spine, and a collapsed lung from the accident.  After three nights in the hospital he was released to go home.  Matt now has a long recovery ahead and will have some financial hardships ahead.  Matt is a local police officer in a suburb on the outskirts or Pittsbirgh,Pa.  Matt risks his life daily to help strangers, so I was hoping to raise $5,000 to show appreciation.
