Matthew is a kind, caring person. He is always willing to help a total stranger; he always puts himself last.

He has fallen on hard times dealing with lung and throat cancer, which has also affected his housing situation too. But medical bills are starting to pile up for him, and this is just the start.

He has to start learning sign language and any other way to communicate because his vocal cords are being removed the week of October 15, 2025. His insurance covers some of the bills, and trying to keep up with this stuff is physically draining him. I have watched him struggle with walking, picking up anything weighing over 5 lbs. Stuff that most people don't even think about doing in their daily activities has become extremely hard for him.
