I am reaching out on behalf of one of our best friends, Matt Humbert.

Friday, 10/10, he reached out and let us know he was having some pain and swelling and decided to get checked out. He was told he had a simple skin infection, needed to take it easy for a few days, and was given antibiotics.

Last Tuesday, 10/14, he woke up in excruciating pain and could barely walk. He returned to the ER and after labs and imaging was brought to the OR for emergency surgery. He was admitted and has since had a second surgery this past Saturday, 10/17.

After speaking to his surgeon and care team, we’ve learned his infection was a lot more involved and he will be hospitalized more than likely for at least another week, with extensive necessary daily wound care and possible home health upon discharge.

Matt is a hard worker and is understandably concerned about missing so much work and the cost of unexpected medical bills. Anyone that knows Matt knows he is the kind of friend that you can call day or night and he is there no questions asked, if he is able to help he will and if he can’t he will find a way. He is the kind of person that hates asking for help but at this point he’s gonna need all he can get.

We are hoping to help him raise some money to offset the cost of him missing work, and to help with the cost of his unexpected care. He needs to be able to rest and focus on his recovery. Any little bit helps, if you can’t contribute PLEASE share!! Let’s help out Matt any way we can.
