Matt is a dedicated personal trainer and New Orleans native who has spent years helping others reach their physical goals. Unfortunately, his own journey has been set back by a bowed leg that is getting more serious as he ages. The issue has worsened, making it increasingly difficult for him to continue doing the work he loves and make more strides in his career.

Matt recently had a final consultation on having his bowed leg fixed and straightened. This is the 5th time he has inquired about fixing it in his adult life. They repeated the things he has known since he was 20: it has to be done, and the pain will gradually get worse as he ages. Eventually, there will be no cartilage between the bones in his knees, requiring an entire knee replacement by the time he is 37-40. Having it done while Matt is young enough to save his natural knee will make recovery exponentially easier, and he would have to spend less time in PT and could go back to work sooner.

While his insurance will cover the surgery, it won’t cover the essential physical therapy Matt will need after his initial release. He’ll be off his feet for at least two months after, unable to work and facing out-of-pocket costs for rehabilitation. This creates an overwhelming financial burden at a time when Matt needs to focus on healing and recovery.
