Matt Gonzalez Needs Our Help Fighting Cancer

Our friend Matt Gonzales needs help with the fight of his life! Before Thanksgiving, Matt walked into the emergency room with stomach pain and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that is all over his body.

For those of you who know Matt, he is a selfless guy who improves the lives of those around him with his infectious charm, positive energy, and memorable southern accent.

Matt is facing a serious fight.

He spent several days at Sutter General Hospital and is now starting his treatments which include chemotherapy, radiation, and intensive home care treatments.

I am asking for the community's help. Matt needs prayers, and any donations are appreciated. Donations will support:

About ten years ago, after traveling around the country, Matt decided to make Sacramento his permanent home because the community welcomed him with open arms. We know Matt from working at our favorite restaurants and bars, supporting the St. Baldrick's Foundation, or catching Giants and 49ers games.

To help Matt focus on recovery, we added his long-time girlfriend Michele Gunter as the beneficiary to this fundraiser. Michele is doing a fantastic job coordinating Matt's care and will be updating everyone on his status.
