Just wanted to give you a little update from Carla:

We are in the home stretch and so grateful for everyone who has stood beside us through this journey. Today we have our final ultrasound.

We just received news that fluid has begun building back up in Matt’s lungs due to trapped fluid in his abdominal area. While this is difficult news, we remain hopeful and focused on taking things one step at a time, trusting the medical team and leaning on faith.

We humbly ask for continued prayers, love, and support during this critical time. Every prayer, message, and donation has meant more than words can express and has helped carry us through some very heavy days.

Hey everyone,

We have an important and hopeful update to share—Matt has officially been approved for a liver transplant!

The surgery will take place at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and while this is a huge step forward, it also means Matt will need to stay in Arizona for at least two months to recover. This brings new challenges, including temporary housing, meals, and maintaining their home back in California during this time.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support you’ve shown so far—it’s made a real difference. As we move into this next phase, your continued encouragement and generosity mean the world to Matt and our family.

I'm reaching out on behalf of my best friend Carla DuVall’s husband, Matt DuVall, a kind and devoted man who is now facing the fight of his life. In April 2024, he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver — a devastating condition that was not caused by alcohol but has still taken a serious toll on his health and his family’s life.

Since the diagnosis, his condition has worsened, and he is now in urgent need of a liver transplant to survive. The journey has been incredibly difficult — physically, emotionally, and financially. He’s been unable to work, and the loss of income has made it nearly impossible to keep up with everyday bills, let alone the mounting medical expenses.

Despite everything, he remains a loving husband, a proud father, and a joyful grandpa — the kind of person who lights up a room with his presence and always puts a smile on your face. Now, he and his family need our help.
