On February 6, 2026 Matthew (age 47) walked into what he believed would be a simple routine check‑up. Instead of reassurance, he received life‑changing news: he had been diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer.
The diagnosis came as a complete shock. Matt has always been active, health‑conscious, and devoted to building a full life with his wife, Sarah. He has never smoked, doesn't drink much alcohol and exercises daily. Sarah, a Registered Dietitian keeps a pretty healthy kitchen too. He had no symptoms or signs. No one would ever expect this to happen in a healthy young person like Matt. For those who know and love them, watching this vibrant couple face such an unexpected battle has been heartbreaking.
Everything is moving quickly, yet so much remains uncertain. Matt and Sarah are now working closely with a team of specialists to chart the best possible path forward. They are undergoing additional testing and consultations in the Bay Area to determine the most effective treatment plan. But even in these early stages, the costs are already mounting—from co‑pays and deductibles to diagnostic testing and extensive travel. We are asking for your support so Matt can focus entirely on making the medical decisions that matter most right now. Your contribution will help ease the financial burden of these rapidly accumulating expenses and give Matt and Sarah the space to breathe during an incredibly overwhelming time.
Colorectal cancer is becoming more common in younger generations, and is the deadliest cancer in people under 50 and second deadliest overall. Matt and Sarah are blessed that they found this early enough, and are currently exploring possible treatments. By coincidence March happens to be National Colorectal Awareness Month. they would like to spread awareness and encourage people to get screened.
Every donation—no matter the amount—truly makes a difference. And if you’re unable to give, simply sharing this message with your family and friends can be just as impactful.
Your kindness, your prayers, and your support mean the world to Matt and Sarah as they navigate the uncertain weeks ahead. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
