For those who know Matt and Samantha, you know words can hardly capture just how incredible these two are. On December 13, 2024, they welcomed their firstborn, Cashman Alan Birr, into the world. However, his arrival was not without significant challenges.

During birth, Samantha required an emergency C-section, and baby Cash entered the world without a beating heart and with a lack of oxygen to his brain. Thanks to the careful and amazing efforts of an extraordinary medical team, Cash’s heart was revived, providing a moment of hope and temporary relief for Matt and Samantha.

Over the past six weeks, Matt, Samantha, and their medical team have faced countless uncertainties about Cash’s recovery and the unexpected medical complications that have arisen. Matt and Sam essentially living in the hospital with Cash since his birth and are still waiting to take their little man home.

Cash was diagnosed with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) and has already undergone numerous medical procedures in his first six weeks of life than most people will face in a lifetime.  While the road to a full recovery is uncertain, one thing is undoubtably clear: Matt and Samantha have shown unwavering love, strength, and care to their beautiful son. They are and will continue to be the most compassionate, thoughtful, and dedicated parents Cash could ever have.

This GoFundMe was created to support the Birr family and to help minimize the unexpected medical expenses they’ve encountered and may continue to encounter throughout this journey.

For those who know Matt, you understand the kind of person he is. He’s the definition of a best friend - a loving, joyful, goofy, and loyal friend to everyone he meets. Matt would give his last dollar to a stranger if he knew to would improve their life over his.

This is a small, yet impactful gesture by helping alleviate a financial burden on this incredibly beautiful family. All proceeds will be directed to Matt and Sam.

P.S.: Matt and Sam didn’t ask for this, nor do they know that this was created for them. This is will be a surprise for them and we all know that they both are so humble, that they wouldn’t ask for the financial support. If all their bills are covered, then the proceeds will be donated to them and used at their discretion.
