Our dear friends, Matt & Misty Stallard, owners of RAW Winery, suffered a devastating blow to their family business during Hurricane Isaias on Tuesday, August 4. Their warehouse, which houses all of their equipment and cases of already bottled wine, furniture, and supplies was completely flooded. They lost everything. They have insurance on the property but unfortunately it doesn’t cover floods.

This is their livelihood and the future business of their two sons, Zoan Asher & Jude Rowan. They named their family business after their boys. Matt and Misty started making wine together in 1999 in their root cellar and by 2008 had a small wine cellar in their basement. From there they have expanded to be the Poconos first urban micro winery and hard cidery. You can find Matt opening the doors on days they’re supposed to be closed and welcoming the public. Misty is always there with a smile and has made their winery cozy, inviting, and beautiful

They’ve since been keeping their life simple and devoting their time to building this winery together as a family. Covid-19 already took its toll on their business this year but they were pulling themselves up as things were opening back up. Matt and Misty are so generous with their time, always giving to others in need. As you can imagine they will have to rebuild from the ground up. The expense is daunting. So any amount will help.
