Our very active, cheeky 11 year old nephew Matija with a passion for soccer has had his whole life change in a split second. From what was thought to be growing pains has now been confirmed as Osteo Sarcoma - A form of cancer that affects the bones, predominantly the knee area.
In Matija's case he will require to firstly have surgery to have a prosthetic knee which over time will require ongoing surgery as he grows. Following this, intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
