Mateo is a brave warrior of Chilean origin, who has been battling a brain and spinal cord tumor for almost 6 years. Mateo needs your help today. After a complex process in which he underwent surgery, received the maximum doses of radiotherapies, chemotherapies, and an intense and miraculous rehabilitation, after 2 years, the illness returned, this time with a more dire prognosis. In December 2021, Mateo was given a terminal diagnosis, at which point we began searching for options to save his life.

Since July 2022, he has been undergoing treatment in Miami, at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, where he was offered a chance to keep on living. Our problem today is that resources are no longer enough.

We don't know how much longer the treatment will last, it could be 1 or 2 more years. He has just finished 6 sessions of lumbar puncture chemotherapy, takes chemotherapy pills every day, and now we are waiting to find out if he will be able to enter a clinical trial of the drug DFMO, which is an intelligent medicine that only targets cancer cells, unlike traditional chemotherapy. Living in a city like Miami is very expensive, with rents of over 2000 USD, organic food, dietary supplements, gasoline, and all the other costs you can imagine. Desde Julio del 2022, está en tratamiento en Miami, en el Nicklaus Children´s Hospital donde le ofrecieron una oportunidad para seguir viviendo, nuestro problema hoy, los recursos ya no alcanzan.

No sabemos cuánto más va a durar el tratamiento, podrían ser 1 o 2 años más, acaba de terminar 6 sesiones de quimioterapia de punción lumbar, toma todos los días quimioterapia en pastillas y ahora estamos a la espera de saber si podrá entrar a un ensayo clínico del medicamente DFMO que es una medicina inteligente que solo ataca las células cancerígenas a diferencia de las quimios. Vivir en una ciudad como Miami es muy costoso, rentas de más de 2000 usd, alimentación orgánica, suplementos alimenticios, gasolina y todos los otros costos que podrán imaginar.
