Help Mason Stewart beat childhood Leukemia
Donation protected
Hi my name is Lori Lane and I am helping my besfriend Megan Mccarty raise money for bills/medical expenses while her son Mason is in the hospital. Mason is the sweetest soul who lights up any room he enters and has a smile that will blind you and is an all-around amazing little boy. Mason was taken to the pediatric doctor on February 23, 2024 with nose bleeds and a red rash on his feet and legs. A blood test was taken and his mom, Megan McCarty, was informed that they suspected cancer so they were immediately sent to Greenville, NC for further testing. Within an hour, a mother’s worst fears were confirmed: Mason was diagnosed with Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Mason was active, energetic, and overall a healthy kid until this point. According to the doctors, years of appointments and chemo treatments lie ahead for Mason, requiring frequent travel to Greenville, NC and he is in need of a full-time caregiver. His mother is the sole provider for herself, Mason, and Mason’s older sister Marlie, who is battling her own health issues which require her mother to take her to frequent doctor’s visits in Chapel Hill, NC. As the sole provider for her family, Mason’s mother must now take leave from work to be Mason’s full-time caregiver. Mason underwent surgery to have a port put in his chest on February 26 to facilitate chemo treatments and will have an additional surgery in April to have another port put in his head to test his spinal fluid so he does not have to endure constant spinal taps. While insurance is incredibly helpful, it only covers a portion of Mason’s leukemia treatment.
To help ease the financial burden that Megan and her family is facing at this time, I am reaching out to you, our friends and our family to help Mason fight this scary disease. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out and please continue to keep Mason and his family in your prayers. Please help us reach our goal by sharing our story/fundraiser.
