Urgent Help Needed for One of Our Own

While out of town visiting her dad with her sister, Kylie received the kind of call every dog owner dreads. Her heart dog, Mason, had become seriously ill; vomiting, diarrhea, and just not acting like himself. He was rushed to the emergency vet where initial bloodwork came back normal. Kylie was under the impression that X-rays had been done then and nothing was found, but unfortunately, they weren’t performed until the following morning (Saturday).

By then, Mason still hadn’t improved. The X-rays revealed a concerning amount of fluid and a suspected foreign object. The vets recommended immediate exploratory surgery, quoting $6,000–$8,000, and that’s just the low end. Despite the overwhelming cost and being over 10 hours away, Kylie didn’t hesitate. She gave them the go-ahead to start surgery, doing whatever it takes to save him.

Mason isn’t just her pet - he’s her first working dog, her right-hand partner, and her demo dog for the boarding and daycare business she’s built. He’s her shadow at home and the dog that started it all. Losing him would be absolutely devastating.
