Mason came to me 9 months ago saying that he wanted to try wrestling. He put his whole heart into it and seemed to just “get it” right off the bat, according to his high school coach. He wrestled for NBHS at both JV and varsity levels, stepping up to higher weight classes when called upon, and earned the “Match of the Year” award at the close of the high school season. He has continued to put in hard work with Grind Wrestling Club, where he closed out the season at state with 4th place finishes in both Freestyle and Greco, thanks to the help of Coach Aiden Valadez.
Just when we thought we were done with tournaments till the fall, we were notified that Mason was selected to represent Team Texas in June at the National Tournament in Utah. The cost to attend as part of the state team is $1200 which includes his travel, lodging, food and Team Texas gear. I am beyond proud of him and his hard work and would love him to have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If you feel so inclined, let’s get this little warrior to Nationals! Any amount helps and he and I appreciate your support
